Harry and William could reunite before coronation after sad family death

Prince Harry and Prince William may reunite ahead of King Charles' coronation, following the sad death of their great-aunt.

The passing of the brother's great-aunt was announced in the Telegraph earlier this week, in a statement which read: "The Hon Mary Cynthia Burke Roche, peacefully at home on 3rd March, aged 88."

Mary was the aunt of the late Princess Diana, and the sister of her mother Frances Shand Kydd, who passed away in 2004.

It's unclear when Mary's funeral will he held but both Harry and William will likely be invited, leading to the possibility of the pair reuniting in the weeks ahead of the coronation.

It comes after Prince Harry said that he would want an apology from his father and brother before attending the historical coronation.

In an interview with ITV's Tom Bradby to promote his memoir, Harry suggested that there was a chance of reconciliation if his family members met him in private.

He told Tom: "The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they’re [the family] willing to sit down and talk about it."

In the wake of these comments, a royal insider told The Daily Mail that the Prince of Wales is "not in the mood for any conversation" but added that Charles is more open to having a conversation.

They explained: "Harry is his son and His Majesty will always love him. While things are difficult at the moment, the door will always be left ajar."

Prince Harry's apparent desire for an apology is said to be a slight sticking point for the King and the Prince of Wales, as another source said: "I don’t think His Majesty is minded to apologise for anything at present. Quite the opposite.

"Conversations could still happen in the next few weeks [over the Sussexes’ attendance], I am sure, but they will be waiting a very long time for an apology. There’s a great deal of hurt [at Harry’s actions]."

According to reports, Harry has been in contact with Charles’ representatives concerning his and Meghan Markle's attendance at the coronation.

But the Duke has said that he is not ready to disclose whether a decision has been made on his and Meghan’s attendance..

A Sussex spokesperson said: “I can confirm the duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation.

“An immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”
