MAFS Duncan James shocks fans with another confession during a live TV interview

Married at First Sight Australia star Duncan James has shocked fans with another confession during a live TV interview.

The 37 year old slipped up and revealed a spoiler for the show during an appearance on Today Extra, as he revealed that he and his wife Alyssa Barmonde, 34, are no longer together.

Not stopping there, Duncan also revealed the fate of another couple on the show as he shared that Harrison Boon and his wife Bronte Schofield are also not together anymore.

Asked if Harrison and Bronte were in a real relationship, Duncan said: "I would say they are pretty authentic interactions between those two so I thought it was, if you ask the group it wouldn't be a very good answer."

Show host Sylvia Jeffreys had sharp ears though, as she pointed out that Duncan had referred to the situation in the past tense as he said "thought".

He then tried to shrug it off, as he said: "I haven't caught up with either of them in the past couple of weeks."

Also in the interview, Duncan admitted that he was "hurt" when he found out that his wife Alyssa had said that he "wasn't her type", which he only saw along with the rest of the world when he watched it on TV on Monday.

He said: "I had no idea that I wasn't her type, I just saw it the other night on TV, I had no idea.

"It is always hurtful if you hear your partner saying bad things about you or saying that they're not attracted to you to the group, but it's another thing not saying it to your face."

Also on Monday's episode, cracks were starting to show between the pair as they got into a fight in which Alyssa demanded that Duncan give her more attention.

She shouted: "Give me attention, I need attention because I haven't had any," before crying, with Duncan then asking to give her a hug, which she refused.

Speaking to Today Extra, Duncan discussed the argument, as he said: "I would pride myself in giving a lot of affection and attention in a relationship but I guess the line of how much somebody needs and wants is different."

His most recent interview wasn't the first time that Duncan has opened up on the show, which was filmed months ago and is being broadcast in Australia at the moment.

In an interview last week, Duncan hinted that his relationship with Alyssa was already over, as he also confirmed that he is friends with Harrison, who is known as the "villain" of the show.

Speaking about Harrison, Duncan said: "He is the self-described fourth expert, he likes to get involved with everyone's relationships.. you could call it meddling or you could call it advice.

"I'd call it advice, he loves to give it even if he wasn't asked to give it, which I suppose borders on meddling."
