ITV I’m A Celebrity Sam Thompson’s jungle regret over ‘secret message’ to Zara

Sam Thompson, the winner of this year's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, has shared his heartache over missing his girlfriend Zara McDermott while he was in the jungle.

The former reality star, who was crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday, 10 December, has opened up about how much he missed "his goose" and is looking forward to spending Christmas with her.

Twenty six year old Zara wasn't able to join Sam in Australia as she was busy competing in Strictly Come Dancing, and despite being the fifth celebrity to leave the BBC show, she supported Sam from home while he made it through to the final and ultimately won.

The Mirror has reported that Sam, 31, shared that he and Zara are a team, as he told them: "No, we are a team, I want her to win everything," with a laugh.

Sam then explained that it just doesn't make him happy, but him too as it is their life together and he "loves" winning.

Speaking about missing Zara, Sam said: "I've really, really, really missed my goose, and I can't wait to get home and give her a squeeze. "She said that she can't wait to spend Christmas together and just do little stupid little things, like getting cosy on the sofa and decorating the tree, all things that she knows I wanted to hear."

He also revealed that he failed to communicate with Zara during the show, unlike Marvin Humes who had a special gesture for his family.

JLS singer Marvin would touch his heart with his right fist every time his name was called out during the live evictions.

Marvin explained to Sam that he did this so his kids and his wife Rochelle knew it was for them, and that he was OK. However, Sam then panicked that he hadn't come up with one for his loved ones at home.

People have been wondering why Marvin keeps touching his chest, and some have offered their theories.

Rochelle Humes hinted at what the secret message meant at the end of November during an episode of This Morning.

After watching a clip of him tapping his shoulders, she said, "I mean, who knows guys, who knows,". When her co-host Craig Doyle asked how many children she has, she replied, "Well, there's three children and one of me so that would make four wouldn't it".
