Kate Ferdinand proudly displays ‘real body’ after C-section for baby Shae’s traumatic birth

Kate Ferdinand has proudly shown off her postpartum body after a difficult birth with daughter Shae.

The Only Way is Essex star, 32, welcomed her second daughter with football star husband Rio Ferdinand, 44, in July.

But baby Shae suffered complications after being born with congenital pneumonia and being taken away to a special care unit.

Now Kate has given her fans a candid insight into her entire birthing experience with a new YouTube video.

Posting the clips on her YouTube channel Blended Community, it includes the moments before and after Shae’s arrival through a c-section.

The mum also showed off her postpartum body as she posed in front of a mirror in underwear, revealing what her "real body looks like."

Kate said: “This is what a real body looks like after giving birth. God, it's been a whirlwind.

"My recovery has been good, but I am still really emotional, and I am getting annoyed at everyone because I can't do things.”

She continued: “It's a lot going on. I can't believe my body created this, but I also don't recognise myself or my body; it is such a big adjustment. But this is our last baby, so I am just trying to enjoy every minute of things.”

Kate and Rio already share son Cree, two, with Kate also step mum to Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11, who Rio shares with his late wife Rebecca Ellison.

The vlog also shares the terrifying details of baby Shae being whisked away to a neonatal unit moments after birth, after being born with congenital pneumonia that was causing breathing problems.

A tearful Kate opens up, saying: “She is in the unit for five days, and I can't send anyone pictures of her with all the wires. I'm fine, but if I talk about it, I will cry because I just want her here now for cuddles. It has scared the life out of me.”

She added: “I haven't been able to sleep unless she is here next to me, and I just feel so, so emotional.”

The heartwarming moment Kate was reunited with her daughter is also included in the vlog, as the relieved mum is seen holding her little one tight.

She added: “I could just tell they thought there was something wrong. She's not taking in the right amount of oxygen, so she's gone to the special care unit."

Rio also reflected on the traumatic birth, saying: “You don't ever think about the negatives; you don't think about what can go wrong.

"You don't ever come into a hospital thinking that your first night is going to be your baby alone, on another ward.”

Opening up about how the couple plans on Shae being their last baby, Kate added: “It's our last baby that we're going to have, and we wanted to have memories with this video and just be honest, but we didn't know it was going to go down this route in all honesty.”"
