Katherine Ryan has shared some insight into her life as a mum-of-three as her eldest daughter Violet, 13, expressed her concerns about being treated differently at school.
Comedian and actress Katherine, 39, shares Violet with her ex-partner, while she also has two young children, Fred, one, and newborn daughter Fenna, whom she shares with husband Bobby Kootstra.
While Fred and Fenna will still be blissfully unaware of their mum’s fame, Katherine says Violet has known that she’s in the public eye since the age of five as she explained the advantages and disadvantages of having a famous mum.
Some of the advantages include getting to jet across the globe, while one of the disadvantages is how Violet’s treated at school.
“[Violet] has said to me ‘I think my teacher is harder on me because he doesn’t like you.’ I was like, ‘well that’s entirely possible’,” Katherine shared with The Sun.
“There are going to be disadvantages with me being on TV but there are also going to be advantages.
“She knows the advantages – sometimes you get to fly to amazing places and go to cool things but the disadvantage is that you’re kind of under a microscope because other people’s parents or your teachers might know who I am. She likes it overall, I think.”
Katherine welcomed her youngest child Fenna back in December and returned to work just weeks after giving birth.
The Your Face Or Mine star also kept busy throughout her pregnancy and took part in The Masked Singer.
She was around eight months pregnant at the time of filming the popular ITV show.
"I've enjoyed my time so much, I'm such a big fan of the show," Katherine said after being unmasked in January.
Speaking about being heavily pregnant at the time, Katherine went on: "I have a month left. I feel like I have a baby's foot in my lung at most times and it is actually harder than I thought."
The star didn’t tell her teenage daughter that she was taking part in the programme, leaving Violet “livid”.
After she was revealed as the Pigeon, Katherine posted a hilarious video of Violet watching the show live and finding out it was actually her famous mum in the bird costume.
"I knew it wasn't Gemma [Collins], it was you!"
"Why would you lie?! You said you weren't on it. I knew it. I was right!"
Apparently Katherine and Violet usually tell each other everything, but her Masked Singer cameo was a rare exception.
