Katie Price says not being with her children is the hardest thing to deal with

Katie Price has admitted that the limited access she has to her youngest children Jett and Bunny is "the hardest thing I've had to deal with" as she opens up on her mental health battles in a new documentary.

The 44 year old will candidly reveal that she tried to kill herself in Katie Price: Trauma and Me, which will air on Channel 4 in September.

Katie shares nine year old son Jett and eight year old daughter Bunny with ex-husband Kieran Hayler, 35.

But in the documentary, the former glamour model tells viewers the children haven't lived with her for seven months after she breached her restraining order against Kieran’s fiancée Michelle Penticost by sending her a text message branding her a “gutter s**g”.

Katie tells viewers: "The hardest thing I’ve had to deal with in the recent months is having limited access to some of my kids.

"Recent events have meant I’m seeing my youngest children less and the relationship between me and their father has broken down."

She adds: "It’s not good for my mental health and it’s certainly not good for their mental health.

"They should be having their mum in their life. At the moment I’m stuck in this rut with Jett and Bunny and it is frustrating for me.

"You know, seven months, how has it even got to this? It’s heartbreaking and I just wish it wasn’t like this. All I can do is hope that this won’t be forever."

Katie admits that she regrets sending the damning message to Michelle, but finds it hard to see her "playing happy families" with her children on social media.

Showing viewers a photo of Michelle and her youngest daughter Bunny in matching outfits, Katie says: "Michelle’s posed with Bunny in a matching outfit.

"When your head’s all like this and they’re playing happy families with my kid, that’s enough for a mother to go through, let alone everything else I’m trying to go through."

Elsewhere in the documentary, Katie details how she attempted to take her own life, but insists that the only thing that kept her alive was her five children.

As well as Jett and Bunny, Katie is mum to Harvey, 20, and her children from her marriage to Peter Andre, Junior, 17, and Princess, 15.

She said of her attempt to end her life: "All I saw was the kids’ faces and I never want that to happen again."

Katie Price: Trauma And Me airs Thursday 8 September, 9pm, Channel 4
