When addressing her rumored feud with Carrie, ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ host reveals that they ‘don’t even know each other well enough to be pitted against [each other].’

AceShowbizKelly Clarkson is not feuding with Carrie Underwood. “The Kelly Clarkson Show” host, who has been rumored to have a beef with Carrie for years, shut down the speculations once again when appearing on “Watch What Happens Live with cAndy Cohen“.

The 41-year-old addressed the matter after a fan brought up Carrie’s name while calling in to the Tuesday, June 27 episode. “I think I know where you’re going with this,” she interjected before the fan could finish their question. “People always pit us together and we don’t even know each other well enough to be pitted against [each other].”

Kelly went on to note that she’s only “ran into” Carrie “a handful of times” over the years.” She then added, “There’s no beef between us. There’s nothing between us. We don’t know each other.”

Kelly then let the fan finish their question, and turns out, it had nothing to do with the two’s possible feud. “Look, everyone always asks me the ‘pitted against each other’ question,” Kelly said. “I don’t know why they do that. They don’t do that with dudes.”

The “Since U Been Gone” songtress was instead asked how she felt to have Carrie as a guest on her talk show back in December 2020. “It was awesome,” she gushed. “It was great to have her on the show.”

Both Kelly and Carrie got their start on “American Idol“. The former was the inaugural champion in 2002, while Carrie was crowned during season 4 in 2005.

Back in 2020, Kelly revealed that she once signed an autograph as Carrie after being mistaken for the latter. “This girl came up to me and was like, ‘Oh my god, your song ‘So Small’ is one of my favorites,’ and I kept thinking, ‘I don’t have a song ‘So Small’, and then she said another song and I was like, ‘Oh, you think I’m Carrie Underwood,’ ” she recalled on “I’m Awesome At Being Awkward”.

“And I literally look nothing like Carrie Underwood,” “The Voice” judge pointed out with a chuckle. She went on recalling, “I was so embarrassed for her that I just… She was like, ‘Can you sign this?’ And I totally signed ‘Carrie Underwood.’ I think that might be illegal!”
