Kirstie Allsopp, 51, has gone after Channel 5 for what are, according to the presenter, “insane” Covid regulations. The star said there is “no end” to the “insanity” of the industry’s protocols.

In full view of her 429,700 followers, the Location, Location, Location presenter shared the tweet which slams Channel 5 for having “different” rules to Channel 4.

Kirstie said: “Wow! @Channel5 have different Covid rules to @Channel4.

“There is no end to the insanity of the protocols which continue to dominate this industry #genuinemadness.”

She was joined by her followers and fans, who echoed her sentiments and shared how surprised they were that the virus regulations were still in place.

@MerrynSW wrote: “They still have Covid rules?!”

Kirstie responded, saying: “So many, you can’t imagine.”

@Nickinickster penned: “There shouldn’t be any Covid rules anymore.”

@Sebserlo wrote: “They still have Covid rules?! How odd!”

@Mooanddrew said: “Why do they have any Covid rules at all? They do know that we are just on a level 2.

“If, and that is a big if, Covid flares back up, they will not have any additional measures to put into place, except closing altogether.”

Kirstie frequently updates her followers on the latest going-ons in her life via Twitter.

She took to the opinion-sharing platform late last week to explain how she spotted actor Hugh Grant at the airport, and considered retiring from television as a result.

Kirstie penned: “Just saw Hugh Grant at Heathrow.

“He looked a good 10 years younger than me, and I bet he’s at least 10 years older, I may have to give up TV.”

Twitter users flocked to comment on the post, as @gerbil granny commented: “Liked your tweet – but feel the need to clarify that I would NOT like it if you gave up TV!”

@Emma Chewter wrote: “You look great, your knowledge, experience and your great sense of humour are far more important for your senior TV career.”

@Daisygolightly agreed: “Don’t even think about it! You keep me sane and optimistic. I’m off work with a hospital procedure at the moment and your shows on catch up are what keeps me going. And you look amazing by the way.”

@lynbarc remarked: “I think he’s just so chilled out! Stress and worry is ageing.”

@joannecuff3 tweeted: “He’s 11 years older. You both look great!”
