Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard ‘Kicked Out’ Of Boston Airport After Trying To Sleep At Gate
She came under criticism recently for admitting she occasionally lets her daughters drink non-alcoholic beer, but Kristen Bell isn’t overly concerned with the people who have been parent-shaming her.
In a new appearance on her husband Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the Good Place actress called out the criticism they faced after she revealed their daughters, Delta, 8, and Lincoln, 9, sometimes drink the non-alcoholic beverage.
“What’s so cute about you to me is that you are so logical and fact-driven and evidence-based–but if people want to be angry about something, they’re going to be angry about it,” she said.
She went on to explain that she won’t apologize for the reveal, because there is a specific reason why they let their daughters indulge.
“When they have tried to order [non-alcoholic beers] at a restaurant or something, its because of a very specific connection to you,” she said to her husband.
“Because first of all, they’re educated on addiction and what substances are and how they affect your body and how scary they are and what they can do to you,” she continued.

Shepard also shared that he wasn’t going to change anything about how he parents his children, even if he faces backlash.
“If anyone has a problem that I let my kids drink NA beer sometimes, that’s fine with me,” he said. “I’m not going to change based on what anybody else says because this is our family and not your business.”
The two faced their latest round of criticism after Bell admitted during an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that at home, their daughters do sometimes have non-alcoholic beer.
However, she also stated that she wasn’t going to let judgement bother her, and that it stemmed from when their older daughter was a baby and Shepard, a recovering addict, would drink in front of her.

“[Dax is] a recovering addict, but he likes non-alcoholic beer, so he’d pop one open, he’d have [Lincoln] on his chest, and we’d walk and look at the sunset,” Bell said at the time.
“As a baby she was pawing at it, and sometimes she’d suck on the rim of it. So I think it feels to her like something special, something daddy, something family,” she added.
Though the backlash was recent, it isn’t the first time Bell has admitted to her daughters having the drink. In fact, she admitted on the Say Yes! With Carla Hall podcast in 2020 that the girls enjoyed O’Douls non-alcoholic beer at home, and she caught them drinking it during their online Zoom classes.
“They have 15-minute breaks where they’re allowed to jump around and grab a snack…and I walk in to check on them at 9:30 and both of them are drinking an O’Doul’s on their Zooms!” she recalled at the time. “They’re both just sipping on their Doulies.”
This also is not the first time she and Shepard have faced critiques about their parenting style.
Not only have they come under fire for things like hygiene and how they potty trained their kids, but they have also faced criticism for their direct approach to honesty, which has included discussing topics like Shepard’s past addictions and sobriety.
