As part of its Signature Music Series, Mattel’s Barbie has announced the release of a new doll replica of music icon Tina Turner.
This doll commemorates Turner’s smash hit “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” and the design is inspired by the iconic outfit she wore in the music video.
The “Queen of Rock ‘n Roll” is the fifth artist to be inducted into the Barbie Signature Music Series collection.
The Tina Turner Doll, priced at $55, is available for purchase on MattelCreations.com as well as from Amazon, Walmart and Target.
The doll wears a black mini dress paired with a denim jacket, sheer black tights, and black heels. Her signature hairstyle, drop earrings, and a microphone accessory complete her look.
“We used a lot of screen grabs to see the hair at all angles,” says Bill Greening, who designed Tina Turner as Barbie. “Lots of teasing and hairspray was involved.”
