Much-loved actress Millie Bobby Brown shocked the world earlier this year when she announced that, at age 19, she was engaged to boyfriend Jake Bongiovi.
The loved-up couple started dating in 2021 after meeting on Instagram, and broke the exciting news on Instagram after Stranger Things star Millie shared an artistic black and white shot of her and her boyfriend of three years whilst wearing a huge ring on her engagement finger.
And this weekend, the talented youngster opened up about the moment Jake – who happens to be son of legendary singer-songwriter Jon Bon Jovi – popped the all important question.
Speaking to The Times, she revealed that her fellow actor beau had actually proposed to her using a ring belonging to her own mother.
"I've always loved that ring, it’s always stuck out to me, so she gave it to Jake," she gushed. "They were in cahoots about the whole proposal. I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me."
The Netflix star also insisted that, despite her young age, her parents were thrilled when she and Jake announced their engagement.
"My parents adore him. [Jake and I] both come from parents that have stayed together for a really long time," she explained. "My parents were young when they got together, so I always had amazing role models for relationships.
"His family are wonderful people who welcomed me with open arms. I'm really grateful to be a part of their world."
Millie also gave her fans a glimpse into her wedding plans, admitting that though she hasn't yet said 'yes' to a particular dress, several fashion designers have already reached out to her.
The sci-fi star added that she and Jake are in the midst of "conversations" about the future of their surname, teasing that she "definitely [doesn't] think [Millie Bobby Brownovi is] it".
In June, the happy couple celebrated their upcoming wedding surrounded by their families at an intimate party.
The happy occasion was captured in a series of photos shared by hairstylist Pete Burkill, snapping the beaming couple in front of a stunning white balloon arch and a neon sign that proudly displayed "Mr. & Mrs. Bongiovi," capturing their adoring gaze.
For the special event, the 19-year-old star of Stranger Things donned an elegant two-piece bridal white ensemble by Giambattista Valli, adorned with delicate lace and pearl trims. Her luscious brunette locks cascaded in loose waves and her make up was kept simple and natural.
Jake Bongiovi, 21, looked dashing in a stylish green suit featuring wide lapels, paired with a crisp white button-up shirt and a classic black belt.
