Monica Bellucci gushes over new relationship with Tim Burton
Monica Bellucci has opened up about her romance with director Tim Burton, 64.
The Italian actress spoke to Harper’s Bazaar Spain where she described him as a “wonderful spirit” just weeks after confirming their relationship.
During the interview, which has been translated from Spanish, Monica said: “I found in Tim [Burton] a wonderful spirit. I met a spectacular soul.”
She also talked about how she likes to keep aspects of her life private and describes fame as a “double-edged sword”.

She explained: “Fame is a double-edged sword, it causes a lot of curiosity and can also provoke conflicting feelings
“When I am not working, I like to lead a normal life – I go shopping, I take my daughters to school.”
Monica also posed for a number of snaps as she is the cover star of the September issue of the magazine.
In her cover shot, the 58-year-old can be seen wearing a stunning black dress with sheer polka dot detailing. She paired the dress with two simple bangle bracelets and smokey eye makeup.

Monica confirmed her relationship with Tim via an interview with Elle France saying:“What can I say… I’m glad I met the man, first of all.
“It’s one of those encounters that rarely happens in life… I know the man, I love him, and now I’m going to meet the director, another adventure begins”
Monica has recently been working on Beetlejuice 2 with Tim in London. She went on to say: “I love Tim,” before adding, “And I have great respect for Tim Burton.”
The pair first met over 16 years ago but are thought to have started dating after seeing each other at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon in last year.
News of their romance broke when they were seen in packing on the PDA during a romantic walk on Valentine’s Day.
Monica was married to Claudio Carlos Basso a renowned fashion photographer from 1990 until 1994. She then married actor Vincent Cassel in 1999 before divorcing in 2013.
Tim was famously in a relationship with Helena Bonham Carter, 57, for thirteen years. Although they never married, they do share two children, Billy and Nell.
