Piers Morgan hits back at Louis Theroux branding him ‘puny wastrel’

Piers Morgan has claimed he would “destroy” Louis Theroux in a boxing match after the documentarian insisted he “could take” the TalkTV presenter.

Former Good Morning Britain host Piers, 58, took to X (Twitter) to blast Louis, 53, in view of his 8.7 million followers.

He shared a clip of Louis in the ring with famous boxer Anthony Joshua, where the star can be heard saying: “Piers Morgan? I think I could take him.”

“Have you lost your marbles, @louistheroux?” Piers asked with two laughing emojis.

“I’d destroy you in 30 seconds, you puny wastrel,” he added.

It comes after the second season of Louis Theroux Interviews launched last night on BBC Two with Anthony as its first guest.

During the episode, Louis asks the athlete: “Do you think you could take me?”

The boxer laughed before responding: “I could actually get you a fight – it will do well.

“You’d bring viewers to my broadcasting channel,” he added.

Quizzed on who he’d put Louis up against, Piers’ names started to be thrown around the ring.

“Piers Morgan? That’s a better match-up,” Louis decided. “Number one, he’s very famous and I could actually take him.”

Piers’ followers took to the comments section on X to share their thoughts on the matter, with one person writing: “Doubt it, Louis is pretty athletic.”

Another added: “You woke up with some fire in the belly today.”

“Make this happen,” a third begged, while more one penned: “I’d pay to watch it! Fight of the century.”

Louis Theroux Interviews continues next Tuesday at 9pm on BBC Two with the Libertines frontman Pete Doherty.
