Piers Morgan shares heartbreak as Archie Battersbee’s mum confirms he’s died aged 12

Piers Morgan has shared his heartbreak following the recent announcement from Archie Battersbee’s mum that the 12 year old has passed away.

The 57 year old TV host, who recently reignited his feud with Meghan Markle, took to Twitter to share his “heartbreak” at the news.

Archie’s mum Hollie announced the news on Saturday that her son had passed away following a tense legal battle to keep his life support on.

Archie’s parents were fighting to get him moved from hospital to a hospice but a ruling at the High Court decided it wasn’t in Archie’s best interests.

In April this year, Archie was found unconscious by his mum in his bedroom after what she believes was taking part in a viral TikTok challenge.

She believes that he may have been taking part in the Blackout Challenge – a disturbing trend which sees young people try various methods to make themselves unconscious.

Following today’s news that Archie passed away, Piers took to Twitter to share this message to his family.

Piers wrote: “Such an incredibly sad story. My heart breaks for Hollie & her family. RIP Archie."

People were quick to respond to the message.

One wrote: “Very sad. Archie can be at peace now and the family can start grieving. Hopefully they can get to a place in the future where they remember him as he lived and not how he died. RIP Archie.”

Another penned: “Peace and love to#ArchieBattersbeeand his family.”

The former Good Morning Britain is now heading up the flagship show on the brand new TV channel TalkTV as part of a rumoured £50 million three-year deal.

The show launched in May and in the first week, the TV presenter’s viewers had dropped from around 317,000 to an average of 62,000.

The Telegraphreported that TalkTV has suffered an 80% drop in ratings for Morgan’s show since the channel’s launch, despite Uncensored still coming out on top over GB News and Sky News on Monday evening.

In the first episode of the show, the Good Morning Britain presenter's explosive interview with Trump saw the ex-president take shots at Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle among others.

Boasting he predicts “almost everything”, Trump told Piers he believes Meghan will ditch Prince Harry for “some other guy she likes better”.

Despite the reports of sinking ratings, Piers tweeted at the time that his show is still beating TalkTV’s competitors when responding to an article by writing: "Piers Morgan’s new show beat BBC News, Sky News & GB News in UK ratings last night – with more viewers than the Guardian has sales.’ Fixed it for you!"
