Pregnant Meghan Trainor announces babys gender in sweet live TV moment

Meghan Trainor revealed the gender of her second child during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, alongside her husband, former Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara.

The singer and soon-to-be mum-of-two, 29, revealed the baby's gender to host Kelly Clarkson and the studio audience, as she and Daryl, 30, shared a sweet video of their two-year-old son Riley throwing his arms up and announcing: "It's a boy!"

The expectant parents reacted in a similar way to their son as they threw their arms up in celebration at the news.

Meghan announced her second pregnancy earlier this year on Instagram, as she posted a snap showing off a row of baby scan photos.

"BABY #2 COMING THIS SUMMER @darylsabara," she captioned the post.

The Made You Look singer married Spy Kids star Daryl in 2018, and the couple went on to welcome their first child, Riley, in 2021.

Meghan previously shared that ahead of becoming pregnant with Riley, she and Daryl had been trying, unsuccessfully, to conceive for months – before she read up on how pregnancy actually works.

After failing to get pregnant, they began using easily available conception monitoring strips and it was this that finally helped her conceive son Riley, now two.

Meghan explained to ETCanada: “I learned about the science of how you ovulate, and it’s like one magic moment. So when you miss it that month, you’re like, ‘What’s wrong? Why can’t I get pregnant?’

"You just miss that window of ovulation, so then I learnt and bought ovulation sticks, you could pee on those every day.”

Meghan, who first broke onto the music scene with world-beating track All About That Bass back in 2014, previously referred to her second pregnancy as being "so much different" to the first while speaking to PEOPLE.

She said: "This pregnancy, I'm hungry to the point where I was like, 'Is it twins?' But it's not twins, sadly. I wanted twins.

"My husband's a twin, and every time I was like, 'Give me twins,' he's like, 'We're not going to do that. We're not going to,'" she continued.

"I'm just so grateful I can get pregnant. And I'm like, 'I'm crushing it. This is amazing. This is my dreams.' I'm halfway there — I want four kids!"

Alongside being a mum, and continuing her music career, Meghan has also written a book about her experience of both motherhood and pregnancy, entitled Dear Future Mama: A TMI Guide to Pregnancy, Birth, and Motherhood from Your Bestie.
