Kate Middleton and Roman Kemp on the ‘Shaping Us’ campaign
Princess Kate asked to film their joint documentary at Roman Kemp’s flat but he rebuffed the idea.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, The One Show presenter shared candid details about their meeting.
Ahead of their Shaping Us campaign, Roman, 30, and Kate, 41, chatted over Zoom where the Princess of Wales made a royal request.
He recalled: “I’m in my house in the kitchen and the Zoom comes on and it’s exactly what you thought it would be. Kate was either in Windsor or Buckingham Palace which you can see in the background.
“She’s sat there and we had this really nice chat. She’s so lovely and polite.”

Roman continued: “Kate was like, ‘thank you so much. I’m really nervous about doing this. Do you mind if we come and film it a your house?’
“I was like, ‘I live in a little flat in Vauxhall.’ I didn’t think that it would look nice. So, I said ‘we can go to my parents house.'”
The duo ended up filming their documentary at Martin and Shirlie Kemp’s country home as Roman recalled his parents meeting the ‘graceful’ princess.
“The day came and we went to my parents house and I just remember [Kate] didn’t turn up with a big crew,” he said. “Only four of her team were there. Not a lot. When you think about it you’ve got the princess turning up and there are only four people.
