Jay Blades, 52, has issued a warning on Twitter in full view of his 61,400 followers, ahead of the latest episode of BBC’s The Repair Shop airing tonight. He reminded his fans not to confuse his personality with his attitude.

He said: “THOUGHT OF THE DAY.

“Don’t confuse my personality with my attitude. My personality is who I am. My attitude depends on who you are.

Jay included a black and white snap of himself wearing a checkered shirt and grey flat cap to accompany the quote by artist Frank Ocean.

Fans took to the comments to heap praise on the TV presenter.

@Madswag penned: “I’ve just googled ‘who is Jay Blades’, why you may think.

“Well having only seen Repair Shop a couple of times I was intrigued and must say, I’m impressed and inspired by the obstacles he has overcome.

“Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re an inspiration.”

@MonicaCruHall: “Preach!! Beg you say it again …. I say this to people all day long ….

“My personality is beaut-teeee-filled although depending on how you deal with me truss me I can reach some dark depth of messed-up ‘mash you up’ -ness with words that slice and dice.”

@Graemkwhippy said: “Exactly this. I was called a “grumpy old man” by someone on holiday.

‘It gave me pause for thought: when interacting with people I can’t help but react to what I’m presented with.

“Cheerful, reasonable people get the best of me. Miserable, unreasonable people get the worst.”

@PZR311: “That’s brilliant and so true, can I borrow this please ?

“The episode with the King was amazing, I was welling up at one point, brilliant, be proud of yourself Jay, we all are of you.”

It comes after Jay was set up to work with King Charles III in an historic episode of the BBC series.

The pair had arranged to meet after the 52-year-old became a Building Crafts ambassador for the Prince’s charity in 2020.

King Charles, who was still the Prince of Wales at the time of filming, tasked the workshop team to help restore a couple of his items from Dumfries House in Scotland.

Fans were quick to praise how well Jay and the now King got on, leaving many hopeful that the pair could reunite again.

In a Q&A with his followers however, the furniture restorer remained tight-lipped about working with the monarch in the future.

Jay told fans he wasn’t sure if the royal would come back on the show, but refused to answer whether or not he’d personally work with him again.

“Erm, let’s move on to another question,” he said, prompting his fiancée to swiftly go to the next one on his Instagram Live.
