Taylor Swifts ex Joe Alwyn makes first appearance after being blindsided by split

British Actor Joe Alwyn has made his first public appearance since splitting up with worldwide pop star Taylor Swift in April this year.

The couple had been in a serious relationship for six years before it came crumbling down just weeks before Taylor reportedly started dating the 1975’s Matty Healy.

Before Taylor and Joe split, rumours had circulated that they were engaged, with a wedding due in late 2023 or early 2024.

After reportedly “doing his best to keep busy”, Joe cut a smart figure as he stepped out at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and enjoyed a dinner hosted by Celine artistic director Hedi Slimane.

The actor opted for a layered look, wearing a smart black suit over a nude satin shirt and white top underneath.

Joe styled the look with a pair of black sunglasses as he posed for a picture with one hand in his pocket.

It was reported by ET that Joe and singer Taylor Swift’s split was "amicable" and was "not dramatic", with a source telling the publication: "The relationship had just run its course. It's why [Alwyn] hasn't been spotted at any shows."

Although, a source recently told the DailyMail that Joe is “distraught” and unhappy about how quickly his ex has moved on.

They said: "Joe feels slighted and is distraught after seeing her budding relationship with Matt, but is doing his best to keep busy and focus on himself.”

The source also said that Joe was aware that Taylor and Matty were collaborating on music when they were together and that the two singers had become friends.

The source said there wasn’t an overlap with Joe and Taylor's new romance with Matty.

Amid the rumoured romance between Taylor and singer Matty, the duo were all smiles as they were snapped together last week leaving a recording studio.

Taylor is currently completing her sold out Eras Tour across the US where Matty has been spotted watching in the audience.

A source told ET Online the Shake It Off singer is "enjoying her time with Matty". The source continued: "Taylor and Matty have known each other and have history so there's a comfortability factor there, but also feelings of excitement."

The apparent couple have yet to publicly confirm their relationship, though they have been pictured spending time together.

The fiery flame between the new couple is thought to have first sparked 10 years ago when they first started dating, before soon going their separate ways.
