Phillip Schofield says he has ‘lost everything’
Phillip Schofield’s shock exit from This Morning rocked the nation in May when he admitted to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a man who is now in his mid-20s.
In an emotional interview following his resignation, Phillip, 61, said he believes his TV career is over after more than 30 years in the business.
He told BBC: “I have brought myself down. I am done. I have to talk about television in the past tense, which breaks my heart.”
However, PR experts don’t think this is the last we will see of the former Dancing On Ice host.
Kevin Craig said that while Phillip made a mistake by lying about his affair, his subsequent interviews showed “real honesty and candour”.

On whether he can continue his TV career, the founder of PLMR told Sky News: “I think he can because I think rehabilitation is possible. And again, you have to compare this over time to some of the other scandals that people in the public eye have been involved with.
“Yes, he’s made mistakes, but what’s he done? He’s had an ill-advised affair at work… you see people bounce back from that… I think there is a future for Phillip Schofield.”
Meanwhile, talent manager Jonathan Shalit echoed: “The most important thing is Phillip hasn’t broken the law.
Referencing the 2019 Jeremy Kyle Show scandal which saw the programme axed following the suicide of a guest, Mr Shalit added to GB News: “I think the one thing [Phillip] should hold on to is that time heals.

“Look at Jeremy Kyle, when that terrible thing happened on his show. He was out for a while and now he’s working. People do come back.”
The InterTalent chairman also said the scandal should leave no mark on Holly Willoughby’s career after she “made absolutely clear she didn’t know”.
Shalit continued: “She’s one of Britain’s best broadcasters…She’s very experienced and she will come back and continue as long as she wants.”
It was speculated that Phillip could follow in the footsteps of his former ITV colleagues Piers Morgan and Jeremy Kyle and join TalkTV.
“TalkTV could be the career-rebuilding platform that Schofield needs right now,” Andy Barr, CEO of 10 Yetis Digital, told the Daily Star: “If the current media spotlight reveals no new allegations then this is entirely recoverable for him and TalkTV could be the perfect place for him to start again in a high-profile media environment.”
However, a legal representative for Phillip denied he was planning on joining the broadcaster, telling Express.co.uk: “Absolutely not as far as I know.”
