Yazmin Oukhellou admits to ‘meltdown’ as she learns to ‘pick herself up’ after crash

Yazmin Oukhellou has candidly admitted she still has “meltdowns”, but is “learning to pick herself up” following her horror car crash in July.

The Towie star, 28, was left with serious arm injuries in the crash, which happened in Turkey, while her on-off boyfriend Jake McLean tragically lost his life.

Yazmin has now given her Instagram followers an update as she continues to recover.

Sharing a picture of herself wearing a bikini and a matching shirt in Marrakech, Yazmin began: “Just a little reminder: You can be positive, happy, grateful and still have awful, or off days. Just keep going.

“Keep practicing mindfulness and good thoughts. But also acknowledge how you’re truly feeling. You don’t have to pretend and you don’t have to be perfect.”

She then explained that shortly after the photograph was taken, she had a “meltdown”.

“Just after I took this photo I had a meltdown and that’s okay but I’m learning to pick myself up and trying to live in and appreciate the present as much as possible,” she continued,” before adding: “Live your life how you feel is best for YOU and just know I think your doing amazing. Love Yaz.”

Many followers rushed to the comment section, with her Towie co-star Amy Childs posting three love heart emojis.

Safiyya Vorajee wrote: “Keep going babe,” while someone else said: “Beautiful soul, beautiful lady you are stronger then you know.”

Another added: “You’ve got this,” while someone else wrote: “Keep going.”

Yazmin is currently spending time in Marrakech, which is where her wellness retreat is located.

It comes after Jake's funeral took place in Essex recently. She was not present at the funeral, where stars including James 'Arg' Argent and Lauren Goodger paid their respects.

Yazmin broke her silence for the first time since the funeral to pay tribute to Jake on the sad day to share some sweet snaps of the pair.

Alongside the pictures, she wrote: "I have been taking some time away from social media to fully focus on my mental and physical recovery. I needed this time away to work on healing and processing everything as best as I can.

Yazmin went on: "This has taught me that life is so short and we must cherish our loved ones as much as possible.

"I am so grateful for our memories and the special time that Jake and I shared. I’ve not stopped thinking about him and I’ll miss him always. He will forever hold a special place in my heart.

"I want to thank everyone for their support and lovely messages. I truly appreciate each and every single one of you."
