Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott get competitive
Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Zara McDermott has revealed she’s incurred painful injuries as she excitedly awaits her debut on the BBC show.
The star pulled down her socks as she lay on the floor to reveal sore-looking blisters on the back of each foot, but she was undeterred by them, quipping: “No pain, no gain!”
Day four of rehearsals is now complete, and yesterday evening the former Love Island star had soaked and luxuriated in a bubble bath to gently ease her aching limbs in between intensive dancing sessions.
She seems to be maintaining positivity at all times, insisting to her 1.9 million Instagram followers that even if she gets a score of just three on the first show, she’ll be “happy”.
Just before rehearsals kicked off last weekend, the 26-year-old posted a photo of the entire cast while praising: “I love you so much already!”

“Couldn’t have asked for a better bunch, who are now my friends, to share this journey with!” she exclaimed.
“What a crazy lot we are. I bloody LOVE YAS!!! I couldn’t be more grateful for this experience already.”
Meanwhile, at a press event earlier this month, Zara elaborated that she’d become firm friends with Bobby Brazier, the son of late Big Brother star Jade Goody.
The EastEnders legend, who is just 20, has been giving her and her new pals multiple motivational messages in the group chat – although he hasn’t always taken his own advice.

“He’s been going, ‘Everybody do your stretches!'” she chuckled, before Bobby himself cheekily admitted he hadn’t been doing any at all.
Reminiscing on the first day of rehearsals, the emotional reality star added: “All of us [have been] non-stop smiling, grinning from ear to ear, having the best time, all getting to know each other.”
A topic on some people’s lips has been whether Zara’s Made in Chelsea star boyfriend, Sam Thompson, who is 31, is worried about the Strictly curse.
Zara had previously admitted to cheating on him almost four years ago while participating in Celebrity X Factor – but Sam has made it clear that he trusts her never to do it again.
At the time, viewers saw scenes on Made in Chelsea of Zara begging for forgiveness as she and her beau took a walk in the park.
She apologised profusely and, while recalling the event to Pete Wicks on an episode of the Staying Relevant podcast, Sam exclaimed: “She was 22… so f****** young.
“You know when you look at them and you go, ‘She ain’t going to do that again?’ I could see in her face.”
He concluded: “You’d be some w***** to have done it yourself and can’t forgive.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to the nation’s TV screens this Saturday at 6:35pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
