KAILEY Smith had a baby two years ago, at age 16.
While she does get trolled by people online, she says that ultimately having her daughter, Avery, was the best decision she’s ever made.
Appearing on My Extraordinary Family, Kailey says that her friends and family were incredibly shocked when she announced her pregnancy, as was her boyfriend, who she hadn’t been dating for that long.
The two have since married, with Kailey saying they married when she was 17.
About a year after appearing on the show, Kailey posted a video to YouTube reacting to hate comments she has received since.
Kailey says that people her age tend to tell her things like “I’m 16 and I don’t want babies,” to which she replies “most 16 year olds don’t,” adding that despite not planning to have a baby that young, she has no regrets.

“My youth is a disappointment honestly,” is another comment she’s received, to which she jokes “thank you, my father thought the same thing originally.”
Another comment on her YouTube reads: “I’d escape and start a new life in Asia,” although Kailey points out that in this situation you’d still be pregnant, just in a different location.
One comment on the clip of her television appearance was: “What a crazy story, how funny is this, being a mom at 16. I’m also 16 and still play with barbie dolls.”
“You do you,” responds a confused Kailey, “and then we can reassess later.”
Kailey also gets trolled by people telling her that her relationship is doomed, and that her husband will leave eventually.
Others have called her, and her husband, irresponsible, with some saying they’re just “kids having kids.”

Kailey does defend herself against these accusations, responding: “We do support ourselves, we do extensive research before I do anything for Avery.
“Before I give her any food I read every ingredient. Anything I do I research first, including screen time, best ways to parent, and gentle parenting.”
She’s also been told that she’s actually ruined her life and won’t be able to do normal teenage things, as she’ll be bringing up a child instead.
“Obviously we had time to do the things that normal teenagers do,” says Kailey, “hence why I had a child at 16.”
She also argues that she finds raising a child to be more fulfilling than stereotypical ‘teenage activities.’
Another regularly comment she gets is that people feel sorry for her father, or that they hope they don’t have daughters in case they end up like her.
To this, Kailey points out that even if you have a son they can still have a child at a young age, they just have an easier out.

Others have accused her of living off her parents, with one such commenter writing; “If you aren’t financially stable and still have to rely on mommy and daddy you aren’t ready for children.”
Kailey says that while her parents did help to begin with she ultimately pulled everything together and she and her husband do rely on themselves financially now.
