I make the best sausage rolls in my Air Fryer – they only take minutes and are so much better than Greggs | The Sun

NOTHING quite hits the spot like a warm sausage roll for Greggs after a busy high-street shopping trip.

But one woman has revealed that she makes her own sausage rolls and not only do they taste amazing, but she claims they taste even better than Greggs.

Becky Excell, a London/Essex-based food writer, recipe creator and Sunday Times best-selling author regularly shares her quick and easy recipes on a budget to her TikTok account.

She has over 172k followers on the video sharing platform and has four cookbooks -her latest a gluten free cookbook called Quick + Easy Gluten-free.

Becky is air fryer-obsessed and in one of her recent videos shared her air fryer sausage roll recipe.

If you have joined the air fryer gang, this is definitely one worth trying and it’s safe to say, our mouths are now watering, so if you are a fan of sausage rolls, you’ll want to listen up.

Becky uploaded her sausage roll recipe with the caption ‘AIR FRYER SAUSAGE ROLLS. Are you a sausage fan?’

She said: “I must admit, I love a big sausage roll, but Greggs just isn’t for me so I make my own.

“The best way to do it, I think, is in the air fryer.

“Just use shop-bought pastry, sausages, mustard if you fancy, and an egg to glaze and in 15 minutes, you can have fresh, homemade sausage rolls.

“Another thing I really like about making these in the air fryer is that any excess fat drips through the basket, so they are never soggy.

“No soggy bottoms here.

“So if you are a sausage fan, you’ve got to try these – they are epic.”

If you want to make your own sausage rolls, Becky explains: “Take the skin of 400g sausages.

“Unroll a pack of puff pastry, cut it in half, optionally spread mustard just off centre all the way down, then add the sausage meat on top, do this on both pieces of pastry.

“Brush the smaller side with egg, then fold over.

“Crimp the edge of both with a fork, brush with egg and cut slashes down the pastry.

“Cut to fit your air fryer basket, then air fry at 200C for 12-14 minutes.

“They should be golden, crisp and cooked, yum!”.

We think Becky’s sausage rolls look fabulous and thanks to her simple technique, almost anyone (with an air fryer) could make these following her simple recipe.
