I paid £80 for a red velvet birthday cake but what I got was nothing like what I wanted – if I don’t laugh I’ll cry | The Sun

A WOMAN who spent £80 on a red velvet cake for her birthday was left devastated when it arrived.

Nicole splashed out on a vegan offering from The Hummingbird Bakery after seeing a picture of it on their website.

The image showed a tall cake covered in cream frosting with red sprinkles around the top.

But when the cake turned up, Nicole couldn't believe it – as it looked so vastly different to what she'd wanted.

She took to TikTok to share a video showing the product image from the Hummingbird website, as well as the cake she was sent.

"POV: You order a cake for your birthday," she wrote over the clip.

I paid £50 for an ‘elegant’ anniversary cake – what I got was so NOT that

She'd asked for "Happy 20th birthday Nicole" to be iced on the top, but the sides of the cake had collapsed in and the sprinkles that were meant to be around the top in a ring had ended up all over the top.

"If i dont laugh, i’ll cry," she captioned her video.

People were quick to comment on the epic fail, with many insisting Nicole deserved a full refund.

"GIRL I HOPE YOU GOT YOUR REFUND," one wrote.
