I tried on my old childhood Halloween costumes – the last is so short I need to wear it with pants | The Sun

BETWEEN clothing, makeup, wigs, and accessories, Halloween costumes can quickly become a serious investment.

One woman tried to save money by re-wearing old costumes from her childhood, but not all of them still fit the same way, including NSFW ensembles that need supplemental coverage.

According to 21-year-old Lexi, she intended to repurpose the costumes she modeled in a TikTok video as a budget-saving tactic.

All of the outfits were from her school days, and some of them had been waiting in storage at her parents' house for close to a decade.

"Pretty sure half of these are from middle school," Lexi wrote in the description of her video.

First, she tried on a two-piece mesh genie costume, which had sparkly sleeves and plenty of tassels at the waist.

Since the outfit was meant to leave plenty of midriff exposed, Lexi was still able to wear the Princess Jasmine-style set without looking too scandalous.

But the next costume, a football uniform, would leave her shivering.

The costume featured a large jersey-style shirt and knee-high socks, but no shorts or leggings to be found.

Lexi giggled and seemed a bit shocked at her appearance in the phone camera as she inspected the racy, super-short costume.

Luckily, she found a costume that was slightly less risque, though still pretty short: a classic interpretation of Little Red Riding Hood's namesake clothing.

The short ruffled skirt provided ample coverage, while the corset and ruched bodice gave the outfit a vintage feel.

And, of course, Lexi had a bright red capelet complete with a hood just in case she wandered into any forbidding woods on Halloween night.

Her next pick was another sports-inspired costume: a baseball cap and button-down jersey, which barely covered her bottom.

Though Lexi showed viewers what the shirt would look like as a dress, there were limitations to the NSFW silhouette.

Her next outfit was a dramatically different full-coverage ninja bodysuit.

The leggings, top, gloves, and hood seemed like a much warmer choice, and a number of tie-up components helped the old costume fit perfectly.

Finally, Lexi modeled another corset-style top and blouse, with a seasonal tutu.

The orange, yellow, and white skirt was clearly meant to invoke a seasonal treat: candy corn. But Lexi did have to pair the super-short skirt with a pair of black leggings.

Commenters were amazed that Lexi could still wear the costumes, and that they still fit her so well.

"Wow you look good in everything," wrote one woman.

Viewers also had a clear favorite when it came to the childhood costume Lexi should wear again on Halloween night.
