I turned to Shein for my bedroom DIY and it was such a fail – I should’ve known from the start | The Sun

A SHOPPER was mortified after her Shein home décor package arrived looking nothing like her expectatations.

Determined to give her home a DIY glow-up on the cheap, TikTok user Serena, 22, decided to order a few bits from Shein – but sadly, the fast fashion retailer let her down.

According to the 22-year-old, from the US, she had ordered two items that were budget-friendly, including what she thought would be a comfortable and fluffy duvet set in white.

The set, which retailed for £23, came with a duvet cover, as well as two pillowcases and the product had received over a thousand positive five-star reviews.

Whilst shopping on the website, Serena had also nabbed a string of fake flowers in vibrant blue.

This vine, also available in white, pink and rich red, was selling at a mere £1.25, and without much hesitation, the young woman purchased it.

However, upon finally receiving the goods on her doorstep and opening the package, Serena was lost for words.

Instead of a lush duvet set, the mortified shopper had received just a duvet cover – which at least was white as expected.

The fake vine of flowers, unfortunately, was a major fail too – there were just a handful of blue flowers that looked nowhere near as breath-taking as the advertisement.

Sharing the shopping disaster on TikTok, Serena revealed that she hadn't read the product description properly – and vowed to be more careful in the future.
