I wanted a simple and chic wedding cake but what I got REALLY missed the mark – it was too late by the time I realised | The Sun

EVERYONE wants their wedding day to run as smoothly as possible, but one bride's day was interrupted when she finally saw her wedding cake.

What was supposed to be a simple and chic design ended up looked totally different.

Explaining what happened on TikTok, newlywed Taylor Hunt (@taylorhunt_) said it was too late to do anything about the disastrous cake by the time anyone realised.

She said: "I got married last week and it was perfect, it all went great except for this one thing."

Taylor showed a picture of the cake she ordered for the wedding – a very simple and small frosted cake with small polka dots and the word 'amore' scribed on one side.

Since the cake was so basic the bride thought it would be pretty easy to do, so she focused her energy on other things.

But because no one was worried about the cake going wrong they didn't check it until it was actually time to cut it.

"We didn't have an official cake cutting moment, thank god, because this is the cake," Taylor said, showing a snap of a cake that looked very different to the one she was expecting.

There were no polka dots to be seen and instead of 'amore' on the side, the baker opted to write 'My Darling' on the top.

Luckily, Taylor saw the funny side of things though, she laughed: "What is that?!"

Since Taylor's mum was in charge of the cake, she "got on the phone straight away and text the baker" to ask if they'd accidentally been given the wrong cake.

But the baker insisted the cake was the same on they ordered, but they "missed some details."

People couldn't believe how different the cake looked to the on she ordered.

One commented: "This literally makes no sense whatsoever, in what realm is this even remotely close?

"They definitely didn't finish it, that has to be what happened."

A second agreed: "You definitely got the wrong one they just didn't want to admit it!"

"It's weird how once the wedding is over it feels so perfect that you can laugh at the mistakes but you deserve a refund on this one," someone else wrote.

Another said: "Omg what the actual?!? As a cake decorator I'm so sorry this happened to you!"
