I’m a bartender – I don’t wear a bra to work with my tank top, I’ve only got ‘itty bitties’ | The Sun

A BARTENDER has become the latest to join the 'no bra' club.

But she chose to do it at work.

Far from feeling self-conscious, this TikToker appeared to relish the freedom.

Marissa Burt (@marissa.burt.2020) smiled broadly in her video.

She is part of a new movement of young women choosing to ditch their bras.

It stems from the political movements of the 1960s.

In 1968 the phrase, "bra-burning" first emerged as women's rights campaigners demanded greater equality.

This followed a protest against a Miss America beauty pageant in New Jersey.

Demonstrators used what they called a "freedom trash can," into which went bras, high heels, lipstick, and mops to name a few.

It was a symbolic phrase and act.

It urged women to throw away things that were said to oppress them.

But Marissa and her cohorts are doing things differently.

She smiled in her post as she revealed her intentions.

She sat in her car as she prepared to leave for her shift.

Her work uniform was a simple black tank top – with no chest support.

“Pulling up to my bartending job in a tank top and no bra," she said.

She concluded her post, however, with: “Too bad I’ve got itty bittys.”
