A CLEANING expert has revealed the simple way to bring your burnt baking trays bake to life.

While you may be tempted to throw away you old oven traysthere are a few easy hacks to get them looking good as new without having to spend hours scrubbing.

A cleaning expert form Oven Pride told the Express that you shouldn't throw the dirty oven trays away – it’s “well worth salvaging them”. 

And one tip involves using a 2p coin and washing up liquid.

“This one might sound a bit strange since it uses a 2p coin, but it’s well worth trying yourself," admits the cleaning expert.

Covering the baking tray in hot, soapy water, and leave it for 30 minutes.

Once the time is up, scrub the tray with a 2p coin using a circular motion. 

“It’s worth noting that this method can damage non-stick pans, so please bear this in mind before giving it a go yourself," the expert adds.

Rinse off the oven tray and add to your dishwasher as normal.

Another method you can try to remove burnt bits is trusty baking soda.

Before going in with it, remove any loose bits of debris with a paper towel.

Then pour baking soda into a sink with hot water and leave the tray to soak for an hour.

Drain the water and wipe away any residue with a sponge.

To prevent them getting filthy again the expert recommends lining your trays with baking paper or reusable tray liners.

They also recommend soaking the trays in hot soapy water immediately after cooking to prevent food sticking to them.
