I'm a deal expert – five Primark tricks you have to know about… including how to nab £1 bargains | The Sun

A DEAL expert has revealed five simple tricks to help you nab the best bargains in Primark.

Tom Church explained that Primark is a great retailer for anyone on a budget and has a wide selection of items from beauty to fashion to home.

However, he notes there’s always things you can do to make sure you’re getting the best deals.

From finding £1 Primark deals to getting an extra 10% off clothes, here are his top money-saving tips and tricks…

1. Looking For £1 Deals? Find The Hidden £1 Red Reduced Lines

Tom says that while Primark products are generally fantastic value, you can get even better deals by searching for reduced items.

"I’ve found that most of the time when I go into store, I can find sections with reduced items, and deals are usually around 45% to 60% off," he says.

"Discounted racks and sections tend to be spread out throughout the store, so you have to be thorough and look carefully to find the best deals."

The savvy shopper also urges people to keep an eye out for the red reduction signs that point out reduced sections.

"For example, recently I spotted platform sliders reduced from £7 to just £3, summer dresses down from £9 to £5, a paisley top reduced by £4, and even a ‘reduced to £1’ stand in my local store." he says.

2. Save Extra 8% With Cashback

Tom points out that you can get 8% cashback every time you shop at Primark when you sign up to JamDoughnut and download the app.

"You’ll also get a £2 bonus on your first purchase using JamDoughnut as well, so it’s worth signing up and earning these rewards," he says.

“With the 8% cashback, that means if you spend £10 at Primark, you’ll earn 80p back.

"It may not seem like a lot, but it’s better than nothing, and as Primark is such an affordable retailer anyway, it just makes it even better value."

He goes on to explain that JamDoughnut works with 150+ retailers, restaurants and supermarkets, so notes that it’s worth checking out where else you can earn cashback.

3. Get 10% Off Faulty Products

The deal expert reveals that he spoke to a Primark employee to ask about how you can get extra discounts.

Sharing his findings, he says: "Apparently, if you find an item that’s damaged or faulty, you can take it to a store manager and request a discount.

"The interesting thing is this can include clothes stained with make-up, which happens a lot from the changing rooms.

"But most of the time, this’ll come out in the wash."

He goes on to say how you could get an extra 10% off the item, so it’s worth keeping an eye out, particularly if it’s something that can be easily fixed when you get it home.

“For example, I recently found a shirt which was missing a button," Tom continues.

"I showed it to an employee at the till and they agreed to reduce the price by 10%.

"Now, I knew I had pretty much identical buttons at home I could use to replace the missing one, so it was worth doing."

4. Save 90% with Primark Dupes

Any Primark fan will know that the high-street store is popular fortheir dupes of designer products.

"Whether it’s a ridiculously priced handbag, pair of heels or beauty product, you can often get a much cheaper alternative that’s heavily inspired by the designer item at Primark," Tom says.

“For example, Primark recently released a range of Olaplex hair product dupes including shampoos, conditioners, masks and oils."

He goes on to say how he also found dupes for the Comme Des Garcons Converse trainers.

"They retail for £140 and Primark’s alternative is just £12," he explains.

"They’re not exactly the same, but a great option at 91% less."

5. Avoid Branded Items, Save 54%

The bargain hunter points out that while Primark is excellent value, some items are better buys than others.

"You can normally find a lot of branded items in store, for example, their Disney and Marvel ranges," Tom explains.

"If you’re looking for the best deal though, you should avoid these items."

He continues: “You’ll always pay a premium on their branded items, for example, a Winnie the Pooh sleep shirt costs £11 compared to an unbranded one that costs just £5.

"That’s a £6 price difference, so if you’re serious about saving money, avoiding these branded items is an easy way to cut your shopping costs."

6. Use Social Media to See What’s New at Primark

Tom urges shoppers to follow deal and shopping profiles on TikTok and Instagram to see what’s new and on offer in-store at Primark.
