A DOG EXPERT has revealed the three small pooches that are the best to own.
Will Atherton, 32, is one of the UK's leading dog trainers with over two million followers on social media.
In a recent TikTok video, the dog expert revealed his top three small dog breeds – and there's one even he plans to add to his family.
He said: "As a canine behaviourist it's no secret I love large powerful dog breeds, but I often get asked if I had to have a small dog breed which one would I choose and why."
The first dog breed Will recommended as a pet was the Boston Terrier.
He explained: "What I love about the Boston Terrier is that you get a lot of the fun characteristics of a breed like the French Bulldog.

"However, they're much more athletic and far healthier than some of those other brachycephalic breeds."
Brachycephalic dogs often have smaller skulls with their noses pushed in making it difficult for them to breathe.
But if you want a super loveable, chilled out and risk-free dog, Will suggested the Cavelier King Charles Spaniel – which he plans to get.
"If I wanted a super loveable, almost zero-risk dog to just hang out at my house, to chill with my wife and children, I'd have to choose the Cavelier King Charles Spaniel,' he added.

Finally, Will recommended a Chihuahua for those who are looking for a super fun dog.
He added: "This small dog breed is one that I'm probably actually one I'm probably going to own over the next couple of years.
"I think they're awesome, they're great fun and frankly, it would just be an amazing vibe, the Chihuahua."
People quickly took to the comments section of the video to share their thoughts on the small dog breeds.
