I’m a mum-of-two who lives on a converted school bus – I don’t shower for days to save water | The Sun

WITH the cost of living at an all-time high, you might be tempted to ditch your house for a cheaper life on the open road.

That’s just what happened for an American couple, who invested in a dirty old school bus and converted it into a compact-yet-luxurious home on wheels.

Bo and Nicole, who call themselves Roamwithbus on TikTok, decided to do up the old bus by themselves.

Within a year, they’d transformed the single-storey vehicle into a modern haven for their family of four – and they built it using Instagram and YouTube tutorials.

The bus houses all of life’s little luxuries from a spacious modern kitchen with a full-sized oven and fridge-freezer to comfy seating and clever storage – perfect for games of hide-and-seek.

They even hand-built bunk beds for their children, Cooper and Charley.

The couple’s school bus looks idyllic but there are a few obstacles to overcome. When money is tight, their go-to strategy is skipping showers.

In a recent video, Nicole describes ‘boondocking’: Conserving water by using wet wipes on her body instead of soap and running water.

The clip shows the busy mum in a khaki t-shirt and trousers, with her hair back and a toothbrush in her mouth.

She stands in their converted bathroom, featuring exposed wood panels and more handy storage. Nicole is seen whipping baby wipes from a packet and wiping her armpits with them.

The video then skips to a comical video of a sweaty, muscular man dancing care-free.

She writes alongside the clip: “My husband…” – suggesting he doesn’t even use wipes.

Nicole writes to followers: “We don’t always Boondock, but when we do. Sometimes this is bus life.”

She adds: “You know you’ve done the baby wipes shower. Be honest, I can’t be the only one.”

One amused follower agreed: “You’re not alone.”

Fans have praised the couple’s conversion on TikTok, gushing over their contemporary design and how hard they’ve worked despite having little prior DIY experience.
