My neighbours would play music at all hours and have loud sex, I got some petty revenge just before moving out | The Sun

NOISY neighbours are annoyingly a curse that some of us are forced to bear.

One nursing student, however, decided that she’d had enough of her neighbours being loud at all times of day and night, and instead got some petty revenge before moving out.

Posting to the Reddit forum r/pettyrevenge, the anonymous nurse says that this occurred a few years ago when she was working full-time and attending nursing school, so was pulling 16-18 hour working days.

She says that after moving into a new flat she discovered that the walls were pretty thin which added to the annoyance, writing: “During the day, I found it annoying to hear them yelling and playing music, but it wasn’t their fault the walls were thin.

“The issue was, the noise continued into the early hours of the morning. Sometimes going on until 3-4am. Doors slamming, music blaring, conversations being yelled from upstairs to downstairs, unnecessarily loud sexual activity etc.”

The nurse adds that she did try and solve this in a more reasonable way, “After a few weeks I left a nice message on their door explaining that I was in school and working full time and requested for them to try and keep the noise down after 10pm.”

My neighbour sent a savage note asking me to keep my ‘noisy’ kids quiet outside

However, this didn’t work and neither did banging on the walls or filing a noise complaint.

After four days of working for 16 hours she returned home only to immediately be greeted by loud music blaring, adding that she immediately burst into tears as she had another long day the next day and needed the sleep.

She says that being forced to stay up till 3am so came up with a plan: “I had a Macbook with over 3,000 songs. Because you know..Limewire lol…I listen to all kinds of music. Rap, R&B, Pop, Rock, Techno, Gospel, Classical and some pretty obnoxious sh*t that I just liked.

“I woke up around 6am and synced my Mac to my speaker. I got ready for school and right before I left I turned the speaker to full volume and hit shuffle. I left knowing that I wouldn’t be home again until after 11pm.”

BIG ISSUE

My son, 8, is too big for school uniform – shopping for adult kit is traumatising

When she arrived back later that day she was greeted by all her neighbours standing outside staring daggers at her and one even gave her the finger. After going inside she continued blasting the music until 2am.

She finishes, writing: “Needless to say I enjoyed a few months of peace and quiet after 10pm. Whenever they became too rowdy I would bang on the wall and the noise would stop almost instantly. I moved out shortly after.”

Commenters on the thread were quick to applaud the nurse, with some sharing their own stories of getting revenge on nightmare neighbours, with one writing: “I had a neighbour like that when I was in the same position.

“We rented a house sharing a yard with a student house. They would party (never study) all hours. Till we hit them with 100 Best Opera on shuffle and repeat, and got brownies and an apology after”, added another
