Princess Charlotte uses a different ‘normal’ name at school to help her blend in | The Sun

IT'S back to school time for our kids as the little ones go back in for a new year.

Even the royal children aren't exempt from the excitement and anticipation of heading back to the classroom.

This year may be extra nerve-wracking for Prince George, nine, and Princess Charlotte, seven, as they are starting a new school, the £7,000-a-term Lambrook School near Ascot, Berkshire.

Their younger brother Prince Louis, four, will also be joining them this year as he starts school.

George and Charlotte previously attended Thomas' School in Battersea, south London, while Louis went to Willcocks Nursery in South Kensington, west London.

But despite being fourth in the line of succession to the British throne, Charlotte is treated just like any other child at school.

Kate and William are keen for their kids to have as "normal" a childhood as possible for fully support this.

In order to make sure Charlotte fits in with the other children, she goes by another name with her classmates.

The royal tot's full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, while her title is Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

But no kiddy is going to bother with all that when they're playing tag in the playground.

Who the f*** does Meg think she is preaching at us after flinging muck at UK?

So she, like George before her, simply goes by the name Charlotte Cambridge, taking her parents' title as her last name.

Her older brother also goes by the name George Cambridge while at school and both William and Harry used the surname Wales while at school and in their military careers.

It is said Prince George’s schoolmates call him “PG”, in a nod to his “Prince George” initials.

And it seems the nickname has stuck at home too, as Kate Middleton and Prince William are also said to call their son “PG” or “PG Tips” like the British tea brand.

Wills and Kate have moved their family from Apartment 1A Kensington Palace to four-bed Adelaide Cottage, and the kids will receive a top education complete with mandatory Saturday lessons.

If the royal youngsters attend full-time without boarding, it will cost the Cambridges an estimated £53,508 per year.

The private school is a nine-mile drive from their new abode near Windsor Castle, as they move to be closer to the Queen.

A Palace source said: "This decision to move to Windsor and for George, Charlotte and Louis to go to school together was always about putting the children first. It is the best thing for the kids.

"Both William and Catherine are very keen to do the school run.

"Lambrook is very much sports-focused and all three children do love their sport.

"George, Charlotte and Louis are very excited about going to school together."
