Queen Rania is ‘perfect’ as she channels Meghan Markle

Queen Rania always looks elegant whenever she steps out in public. The Jordanian Queen wore an all-brown outfit today as she joined her husband King Abdullah II of Jordan.

For her second day in Oman, Rania opted for a two-piece by Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz.

The top was the brown Lucid Dream Top which featured a high neck, short sleeves, and a draped piece of extra material hanging from the right shoulder to the waist.

Made of cotton jersey, the top costs £338 from fashion website Moda Operandi.

Rania matched this with a skirt that is often seen being combined with the top on models and in advertisements.

Called the Tabasco Musical Mode Ankle Skirt, it is half black and half brown with a green pattern printed just above the hemline.

Costing £863 on Moda Operandi, this skirt also comes in half black and half beige, with the pattern at the bottom in cobalt blue.

Rania accessorised her outfit with a Gabriela Hearst Nina Cognac Leather Bag. Available in a range of different colours, the bag is described on the Gabriela Hearst website as “the original handbag in the Gabriela Hearst collection, the Nina Bag is named for artist and activist Nina Simone”.

“A structured top handle with a distinctive round pouch that gently unfolds from a turnlock closure, the Nina is crafted from smooth Italian Nappa leather.”

Interestingly, another well-known royal also owns this exact Gabriela Hearst bag: Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex has the Nina bag in two colours – the Cognac version, like Rania, and the green.

Meghan was seen carrying the Cognac bag in January 2019 during a joint engagement with Prince Harry.

The Duchess looked stunning in a purple dress and clashing red coat as she attended various events in Birkenhead, near Liverpool.

Meghan stepped out with the green Nina bag in March 2020 for a Commonwealth Service in London, again with Prince Harry.

For the occasion, Meghan opted for an all-green look – her Emilia Wickstead dress was a bright green and matched the stylish fascinator on her head.

The former actress is a fan of a bold, colour block ensemble, and has been seen in the past to don all-brown too.

During her visit to London’s Canada House in 2020, Meghan donned a brown polo neck jumper with a brown satin skirt and brown velvet heels.

She topped this off with a £190 camel-coloured coat from popular high street brand Reiss.

Meghan’s roll-neck jumper and midi skirt were both from Massimo Dutti, while her velvet pumps were Jimmy Choo.

This head-to-toe brown look can be compared to Rania’s all-brown outfit today, especially as the Jordanian Queen’s top also featured a high neck.

Both Rania and Meghan’s colour block looks work well because of the variation of materials and hues in the outfits. Royal fans were quick to comment Rania’s outfit today, with some saying how good she looked.

User @meagainpreloved wrote: “She’s always so stunning and so perfect in her demeanour. She exudes confidence.”

User @just_sandra000 said: “Amazing – from head to toe!”

However, other fans were unimpressed with Rania’s choice of top. User @ojeannine wrote: “She always looks so chic! I understand the ‘why’ of the draped top but due to the angle of the draping, it just looks like an undraped, oversized turtleneck that came untucked. I am in love with this tobacco bronze-y brown color, though!”

User @martina_schippers_ added: “Very nice skirt. Nice colours as well but I don’t like the draped top. It is not necessary.”
