AT this time of year, it's more important than ever to stop heat escaping from your home.
But there's an area which could cause you to lose a staggering 10% of your home's heat – and it's quite possible you haven't taken that into account.
According to cosy cost cutters The Cosy Club, it's a good idea to cover as much of your floor as possible with rugs.
"This is why your house isn't heating up," they said in a video on TikTok.
"A lot of heat is lost through floors, and your feet have a big play in your body heat.
"So cover as much as possible."

And given that you can get a decent sized rug for as little as £3 on Dunelm, the hack isn't going to break the bank either.
You can even have a hunt on sites like Facebook Marketplace or eBay to grab a bargain too.
"Energy prices are crazy so we’ll keep you cosy," they added in the caption.
"10% of heat is lost through uncovered floors, and a lot of body heat is lost through your feet!

People in the comments section were quick to agree, with one writing: "Rugs really do help!"
"Honestly I have wooden floors in my flat, rugs are the wayyyyyy," another added.
"Slippers are a good alternative if you can’t afford rugs," a third commented.
With someone else writing: "Yes! I live in my fluffy croc slides in winter."
Meanwhile, the Urbane Eco website has shared the other areas of the home that you could be losing heat in.
"Typically, 30-35% of the heat will be lost through uninsulated walls, 20-25% through the roof, around 15% through windows, 15% through leaky ventilation, 10% through the floor and 5% through doors," they wrote.
"These figures are only a rough guideline and change if you live in a flat or in a particularly old draughty house.
"Similarly, if you already have some loft insulation for example, the heat loss through your loft will be much lower.
