Traveller-born Paris Fury defends decision to homeschool daughter Venezuela, 12, despite mum-shaming from other parents | The Sun

MUM-of-six Paris Fury defended her decision to take daughter Venezuela out of school at the age of 11.

Appearing on Loose Women, the glamorous wife of boxing champion Tyson Fury spoke about how it is tradition for travellers to educate their kids at home.

She admitted she has experienced backlash from other parents about her choice to homeschool Venezuela, now 12, but insists she’s “not taking away any chances” from her.

Speaking on today’s show, Paris said: “It’s nothing new to us. It’s what our culture, our race of people as gypsies and travellers, have always done.

"We gave Venezuela the option – do you want to go to high school or be homeschooled?

"I had such a bad backlash, ‘you’ve took away her chances for this, her chance for that?’

"I haven’t took away her advantages because she will sit her levels and go through the full extent of schooling.

"When she is 15 and 16, if she wants to go into further learning, she can."

Paris said she did three years of studying to run a beauty therapy business so she could run her own salon.

The mum continued: "I’ve told my girl, she can do everything.

"She’ll keep up to date with her studies and then when it comes to that time.

"People just look at it like ‘you’ve taken her out of school’, but that’s not the case.

"I can’t take full credit, she does have a tutor.

"Somebody comes in weekly and they do all her work, and keep her up to date with the standards she is meant to do.

"It’s going great."

Paris and Tyson are also parents to Prince John James, 10, Prince Tyson II, five, Valencia, four, Prince Adonis Amaziah, three, and Athena, who is one next month.

I haven’t took away her advantages because she will sit her levels and go through the full extent of schooling.

Venezuela is currently their only child who is homeschooled.

Paris previously revealed that Tyson had second thoughts about this move and wanted Venezuela to stay on in school.

Opening up about their decision, Paris explained: "We finish school at primary age, which is the traditional traveller way.

"We’ve just brought the tradition into the 21st century. Venezuela wanted to leave school and all her [traveller] friends were leaving.

"Her tutor is gonna keep her up to date with all of her tests. She will also be having piano lessons."

Despite Tyson's reservations, the couple ultimately decided that Venezuela should leave school as planned due to their busy schedule.

The mum added: "We move so much [the Furys also have a house in Las Vegas and regularly travel to America to be with Tyson]. It wouldn’t work if they were in school full-time to then be off to America."

Describing her husband as a "gentle giant", Paris says Tyson is also keen to be seen as the "cool" parent.

She continued: "Venezuela was going to her school leaving party and had a giant pair of my heels on.

"I thought I would be clever and said: ‘If your dad says you can wear them, you can.’

"And she came running down saying: ‘Dad said yes!’ I thought he would be this strict dad, but he’s not. He wants to be the cool parent.”

Also on the show, Paris broke her silence about baby number seven rumours.

Paris revealed that, while they're not ruling it out, she isn't pregnant right now.

Earlier this year Paris and husband Tyson's pal Carl Froch claimed they were expecting another child.
