Sasha says Aries are usually very competitive and especially at work. They have a tendency to lean towards public service and emergency situations, with many of those that are Aries ending up working as police officers and paramedics.

Teaching professions also appeal as do those where you can get your hands dirty, like engineering, and you're likely to work your way up quickly to work in management.

"Once you find something that really grabs your interest, you make a success out of it through sheer hard work, a bit of luck, political adroitness and good judgment," Sasha writes.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

For those with Taurus as their sign, creativity and artistry is at the centre of their careers, whether that's working as a builder or a make-up artist.

You're said to have a "natural affinity" with food, so becoming a chef could be on the cards for you.

You're known for your love of beauty and like to have a hands-on approach, so any work that has a design capacity – think engineering, interior design or landscape gardening – could be perfect for you.

At work, you love being part of a team and you have a yearning for all things glamorous, which means working on a TV or film set could be right up your street.

Jobs that suit: Chef, builder, designer

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

For a Gemini, Sasha says variety is the spice of life and a repetitive job is not for you.

You're suited to a busy office where it's all systems go, multitasking and doing it quickly and efficiently and you cope well with things being thrown at you.

Being part of a team is where you thrive and you love working with people. While management could suit you, the pressure of being a top dog is not something you'd like.

Jobs that suit: Journalist or an accountant

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Cancers like being in a busy environment with plenty going on, but too much noise can be a little too much at times.

You are naturally friendly and like to meet a variety of new people, so jobs that enable travel or face-to-face meetings would suit you well.

You're a lover of animals and have an excellent memory, so working in a kennel or museum would be a good fit. Cancers also like to run their own small businesses, where they can offer the specialised knowledge they have to others.

You prefer independent work and having your own space, but that doesn't mean you don't enjoy spending your day chatting to people – PR and sales could be a great shout for you.

Jobs that suit: Pension planner, childminder, shop owner

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Leos are all for doing dirty and menial jobs, as long as the business belongs to them and they love to be in a company that is leading in its field.

Stress and deadlines are no issue for you and your love of power and prestige means you crave being an entertainer and the glamorous environment that comes with being a celeb.

Befriending those who are powerful and influential comes naturally to you, as does the appeal of lavish business trips.

You like being the boss and can't bear the thought of failure.

Jobs that suit you: Celebrity, high-flying executive, or a diamond merchant

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

While a position of power and plenty of responsibility is not for you, Virgos secretly feel that they can do the job better than anyone else can do.

"You need to be a step or two away from the top, so the real decision-making can be shouldered by someone whose nerves are steadier than yours," Sasha says.

You're naturally drawn to all things related to health, so encouraging others to adopt a healthy lifestyle or take up nursing or a medical profession could be of interest.

Freelancing is an ideal working situation for Virgos and while you enjoy supplying a service, you crave proper recognition and generous payment for your work.

Working second from the top or as an assistant is what you prefer and you have no intentions of being the boss.

Jobs that suit: Writer, software programmer, nurse

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

For Libras, liaison work comes naturally to them and agency work provides great satisfaction, meaning a career in recruitment or a startup is ideal.

Libras love to give good advice and you're a pro at pinning down needed information when necessary. Legal work is good for you as you're known for being logical and fair and can see both sides of an argument.

People instinctively feel at ease with you and you gain people's trust easily, meaning you can easily deal with the public.

Speculative or risky work is not something you'd enjoy, but something that allows you to "smooth things over" with people and charm them is much more up your alley.

Jobs that suit: Lawyer, employment agent, decorator

For those that are a Scorpio, your work needs to be meaningful to you and you crave positions with serious status, being the proud person that you are.

You can be ruthless and your influence in the workplace is great, but you're not one to want to be the head of an organisation.

While you might not want to be in charge of anything, you make a great second in command and your trust, intuition and common sense can really make a workplace thrive.

You have an urge to help and heal others which often leads Scorpios into some kind of medical training and you have an instinct for all things mechanical.

Jobs that suit: Doctor, solider or management consultant

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

For those who are Sagittarius, you hate for things to stagnate in one place for long, meaning many find themselves working in broadcasting, publishing and the travel trade, where every day is different and not predictable.

You love keeping up with the latest gossip and you've always got your finger on the pulse.

Teaching and the busy environment that comes with a school seem to attract you, as does the hustle and bustle of an airport.

You also have a highly developed aesthetic sense, that can lead you in a more creative direction to do with art and design.

You might be known for being restless, but when it comes to work you like to stick at it and can stay in one workplace for years at a time and you love seeing your plans come to life and put into action.

Jobs that suit: Travel consultant, carpenter or broadcaster.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 20)

For Capricorns, status and prestige is important and you prefer a working environment that deals with inspiring and interesting products, rather than dirty work in the outdoors.

You'd like a nice quiet office where you can get your head down and many Capricorns like to work in publishing, banking, or stock market analysis.

You're a sensible sign that is wedged in between the super-eccentric signs of Sagittarius and Aquarius, which could lead you into fields of alternative health.

But while you might be drawn to creative fields, you still deal with them as though they were a banking organisation, with any job including figures, money and statistics appealing to you.

Jobs that suit: Banker, publisher, theatre owner

Aquarius (January 21 – February 19)

While job security is important to those who are Aquarius, so is exercising your intelligence and originality.

You have an analytical mind and can grasp all things technical and logical, with computing being second nature to you.

"Teaching is a natural outlet for your talents, as it gives you a chance to help and inspire others and is also a good opportunity to show off your own extensive knowledge," Sasha says.

Aquarians also like to run their own show and the freedom that comes with it.

Jobs that suit: Inventor, astrologer, designer

Pisces (February 20 – March 19)

Pisces is the most contradictory sign and those with it make excellent businessmen and women who are extremely efficient and capable, while some others couldn't be more opposite.

They instead pour their talent into creative artists, meanings many of those who are Pisces end up becoming artists, musicians, fashion designers and actors.

You love all things glamorous and fun and like for your work to mean something, even if it is creative and unusual,

Money isn't a driving force for you, but you do like your talents to be recognised and appreciated by others.
