Amazon’s new generation of Fire-powered TVs have well and truly cemented themselves in the world of smart TVs, and for good reason.
Its flagship Omni range and 4-Series come with high-spec displays, streaming, and the Fire TV platform all rolled into one and are more affordable to boot.
The 4-Series rolled out back in April as an entry-level 4K TV option, and its latest range of QLED Omni TVs hit the shelves later in June.

Amazon Fire TV Omni Series vs Fire TV 4-Series: Price
One of the main differences between Amazon’s Omni and 4-Series is the price, with the 4-Series positioned as a mid-range 4K TV and the QLED Omni breaking into premium territory.
The 4-Series is Amazon’s budget-friendly offering and entered the market starting at £429.99 for the 43-inch model.
It’s limited to just three sizes, with the 50-inch (£499.99) and 55-inch (£549.99) completing the line-up.
For those wanting something bigger and better, the Omni series ticks the box with the additional 65-inch model for £999.99.
Alongside it sits the 43-inch Omni for £549.99, the 50-inch (£649.99), and the 55-inch (£749.99).
But, as is often the case with Amazon, you’ll find both the Omni and 4-Series cheaper in their introductory offers.
As it stands, you can pick up the 43-inch 4-Series for just £279.99 and the 43-inch Omni for £449.99.

Amazon Fire TV Omni Series vs Fire TV 4-Series: Screen quality
Both Amazon’s Fire Omni and Fire 4-Series TVs are 4K-ready as standard, but its flagship Omni series wins this round with its superior QLED screen.
Aside from the gold standard (and very pricey) OLED screens, the Omni’s QLED screen is one of the best money can buy, and it's the same as you’ll find on other premium TVs from the likes of Samsung or Sky Glass.
QLEDs use quantum dot tech, which forms an extra layer in front of the backlight – which, to you and me, means a more vibrant array of colours on screen.
The Fire 4-Series, on the other hand, comes with a 4K LED screen, which Amazon describes as delivering a “home cinema experience” – so the average viewer will still be more than satisfied.

Amazon Fire TV Omni Series vs Fire TV 4-Series: Features
There is some natural overlap between the features on the Omni and 4-Series, as you’d expect from two Amazon TVs.
Both come with an identical home screen and navigation experience, built-in Alexa, and the same array of streaming apps to choose from.
But the Omni has gained its own unique features that justify the extra expense.
To start, the Fire Omni comes with hands-free Alexa voice control, thanks to the far-field microphones built into the TV that listen out for your commands at all times (don’t worry, you can switch it off).
The 4-Series also comes with Alexa built-in, but it’s accessed from the remote control and you’ll need to press the dedicated button to use it.
The latest additions dedicated solely to the Omni series are the new Adaptive Brightness and Ambient Experience features.
The latter works when its presence sensor detects someone in the room when the TV isn’t actively being watched and displays photos, art, and customisable widgets.
Adaptive Brightness automatically adjusts the screen's brightness to suit the lighting conditions in the room.
Amazon Fire TV Omni Series vs Fire TV 4-Series: Design
There isn’t a great deal of difference between the Omni and 4-Series TVs when considering the design choices made; in fact, most of Amazon’s Fire TVs are pretty much identical.
You’ll get the same set-up with both models, with the same A-frame design and thin bezels, and there is next to no choice in colour, unlike Sky’s vibrant Sky Glass range.
Here you’ll get the same black plastic shell on all sizes of the 4-Series and the same plastic feet to match.
It’s a similar story with the Omni series. However, its 55-inch and 65-inch sets offer a slightly more premium appeal with their metallic silver bezels and feet.

When it comes down to choosing between these two TVs, it’s a question of whether the extra cost of the Omni is worth it to you.
Ultimately, the Omni offers a superior viewing experience, while the 4-Series delivers an excellent display with less intelligent features.

Is there a difference between Fire TV and Firestick?
Amazon’s first foray into the world of TV came in the form of the Fire TV Stick in 2014, which could be plugged into any TV to make it smart.
Its Fire TVs, on the other hand, feature the same user experience in the form of a physical smart TV, with streaming apps and smart features all packaged into one set.
You can still purchase Amazon’s Fire Sticks, and they remain hugely popular with shoppers as a cheaper entry into streaming if you don’t already own a smart TV.
