Can you get these GCSE maths questions right?

Maths has been a hot topic in Government this year, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak criticising our ‘cultural sense that it’s okay to be bad at maths’ on Monday.

At the time, he was outlining his plan to make sure all pupils in England study the subject up to the age of 18 without the need to make it compulsory.

Downing Street has also stated that around a third of children fail to pass GCSE maths, and more than eight million adults have numeracy skills below those expected of a nine-year-old.

Despite the fact that the PM’s plans are still the subject of debate, with the National Education Union’s joint general secretary Mary Bousted saying there aren’t enough teachers to deliver on his plan, these stats still gave us a bit of food for thought.

With our GCSEs further away than we care to remember, how good would we be at the kind of maths teens do on a weekly basis?
