I got secret tattoo with my bridesmaids and didnt share it until the wedding

A bride admitted that she got matching tattoos with her bridesmaid before her big day – and left it until the wedding day to show them off.

Taylor Downs, 28, decided to get the ink with her bridal party on her hen do. But, the group opted to keep it a secret until the actual wedding day.

Alongside her mates, the then bride-to-be came to the agreement to get 'yeehaw' inked on their bodies in honour of the hen do in Nweddinashville, Tennessee. Although Taylor first brought up the idea as a joke, everyone was game.

Taylor and seven others got the cowboy catchphrase inked inside their bottom lip, one got it inked on their foot and the other decided to get the tattoo on her bum!

Speaking about her hen party etching that cost $80 (£63) each, Taylor shared: "I love it and don't regret it." She added that it was a "great surprise" when the inkings were revealed at the maid-of-honour speech at Taylor's wedding to husband Jacob Downs, 24.

"My sisters said I was a really influential person and I was able to get people to do something," Taylor shared. "They told us all to reveal what we all got together. We all stood up and showed our tattoos.

"Everyone was just surprised. My parents thought it was funny. My granddad rolled his eyes."

The now newly-wed did actually tell Jacob when she got home from the hen about the fun inkings, but told everyone else at the big bash of love. "He was asking me how my trip was," Taylor explained. "I asked him to kiss me on the cheek and then I planned to pretend to bite my lip and revealed the tattoo."

"He thought it was as cool as I did."

Taylor and Jacob met at Southeastern University, Lakeland, Florida in 2018 and started dating in September 2019 before Jacob proposed in October 2021. The weekend was organised by sisters Landrey Vickery, 24, and Kyla Moore, 22 and the bridesmaids and Taylor enjoyed pole dancing and a party bus.

On the morning of the Sunday, before their flights home, Taylor suggested the idea for tattoos. She said: "It was my suggestion."

"It started as a joke. I said 'wouldn't it be funny if we all got tattoos somewhere?' We were in Nashville so I thought 'yeehaw' would be fun. They all said 'let's actually do it'."

"I'm spontaneous and down for anything."

Taylor added: "It really wasn't too painful. It felt like you're biting your lip or cheek. A little pinch.

"I really do love my tattoo. All the bridesmaids were really excited. No one regrets it. Most days I forget that I even have it."
