Princess Kate’s subtle move for photographs spotted by royal fans

Duchess of Cambridge photocall with Crown Princess Mary and Queen Margrethe

A video from February 2022 when Kate, Princess of Wales visited Denmark has resurfaced and it shows the royal repositioning herself very subtly for a photo opportunity.

Kate joined Queen Margrethe II and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark for an audience at Christian IX’s Palace.

The three ladies walked into a room together and stood in a line for a photograph to mark the occasion.

Queen Margrethe noticed the space between her and Kate and lifted her left arm toward the British royal to guide her closer.

In response, Kate moved back but then noticed there was still a gap between herself and Queen Margrethe.

Instead of stepping to her right, Kate shuffled her heels in a zig-zag until she was suitably closer.

A video of Kate shuffling has been posted to social media and royal fans are finding it adorable.

The video has been watched more than 1.8 million times with many commenting.

One said: “That’s hilarious and so cute!” While someone else called her the “Queen of discreet”.

Another wrote: “That takes some doing on a carpet,” and someone else chimed: “She’s good at that and then in heels.”

A fan noted: “I might be able to do that with sneakers but definitely not with high heels. She’s just a different class.”

“God love her. shimmying in the heels,” a comment read.

Someone nicknamed it “the Princess shuffle”. Another said: “The little foot dance is adorable.”

“That’s impressive, I love how she didn’t lose composure and stayed the same! beside she’s a photographer herself, shes sooooo photogenically beautiful,” a comment read.

One fan claims to have seen Kate do the shuffle before: “I HAVE ALWAYS NOTICED HER FEET MOVING! I never understood how people never pointed this out before now!”

Kate’s two-day trip to Denmark was the first time she had taken her work on the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood abroad as well as it being her first solo-trip post-Covid.

Body language expert Judi James analysed the royal and said there were a “couple of gestures that hinted at any potential feelings of nerves or any suggestion of anxiety”.

She suggested Kate holding her handbag with both hands “in front of her torso in a barrier gesture” made her “look less assured” than if she walked with her bag hanging at her side.

The expert also said Kate was “keen” and had “purpose” on her trip, adding that the royal was “stamping her profile with a look of calm, confidence and charm”.
