Sam Asghari Wants Spousal Support, Challenges Prenup Amid Britney Spears Divorce

Only days after Sam Asghari and Britney Spears reportedly broke up, he filed for divorce from the pop star – and he’s apparently hoping to get a generous divorce settlement. Sam filed for divorce only days ago, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In his request, he’s asking for spousal support as well as for Britney to cover his attorney fees.

Moreover, as TMZ notes, Sam’s lawyer has implied the fitness trainer may challenge the terms of the couple’s prenup, even though they were only married for 14 months.

“[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party,” court documents reveal.

“There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time,” the filing goes on.

Sam and Britney signed an iron-clad prenup prior to their 2022 wedding that was designed to protect her $60 million fortune, even though there were reports that Sam’s prenup demands were delaying the couple’s wedding.

However, her attorneys confirmed via court documents during discussion around her conservatorship that a prenup was indeed being put in place.

“To all the reasons why immediate suspension always has been required, we now can add another essential one: as has been publicly reported, Ms. Spears recently became engaged,” the documents stated. “With Ms. Spears’s consent and pursuant to her instructions, Ms. Spears and the undersigned counsel are in the process of engaging a family law attorney to craft a prenuptial agreement.”

New reports say that the prenup entitles Sam to $1 million for every two years of marriage, to be capped at $10 million following 15 years together. It also waived any claim Sam may have to her music catalog, while Sam’s name isn’t on the deed of their home.

It’s unclear what the prenup entitles Sam to after a little over a year of marriage, if anything, but as per reports, he seems determined to walk away with a decent divorce settlement.

So far, neither Britney nor Sam have released an official statement, even though the divorce proceedings have begun.
