Let’s face it, when summer arrives getting your kit off poolside can be a scary prospect for most of us. However, it needn’t be if you shop with your body shape in mind.
When choosing your perfect style of swimwear it’s important to consider, firstly your budget, but also what do you want to boost or enhance? Show off? What will make you feel most confident?
Are you looking for some tummy support? Do you need more support around the bust? Or, do you want to create curves where they are lacking? Believe it or not, if you choose cleverly you can give the impression or having bigger bust, or an hourglass silhouette if that’s what you desire.
But, it’s also all about making the best of what you’ve got.
Swimwear has come a long way over the years , and despite Love Island being on our screens there are hundreds of flattering styles available on the high street that won’t leave you looking like your auditioning for the show.
Plus, if you thought choosing a swimsuit was the frumpier option think again we’ve found so many chic styles that are sure to convert you from classic black to clever colour blocking.
Whether you are tall, curvy, petite, athletic, pear shape, apple shape, have small boobs, big boobs or anything in between, we can all look fabulous on the beach this summer. Here’s how…
Who said swimsuits were frumpy? This year is all about the one-piece and there are so many gorgeous styles on the high street to be had. If you want to opt for some chic Amalfi vibes choose lemon prints, shades of blue and fresh whites which look even dreamier against sun-kissed skin.
If you have an ample bust and need support this white swimsuit from Ann Summers is the answer to your prayers with sizing going up to a 44F.

Girlie ginghams and florals make for a pretty poolside look. We’ve found two swimsuits that could definitely pass as designer for less than £20. Well we can’t argue with that!
I would call these more ‘fashion styles.’ They don’t have much in the way of support around the tummy, so depends what you are looking for in the swim department. The moulded cups on the Primark design actually create the illusion of a fuller bust though if you are looking for a little boost in that area.
Pair with the basket bag of the season-Thanks M&S!!

Colour blocking if used in the right way can trick the eye, especially in the way of illusion panels. Just check out the M&Co design here- the yellow waist band draws your eye straight to the waist which creates an hourglass silhouette.
Athletic shapes can afford to wear a bright blocked hue. The subtle white detail on the edge gives a sporty vibe- team with bright accessories for a full athleisure look. Primark have some fabulously affordable accessories in store at the moment,

Don’t be afraid to have fun with colour and print. Let’s face it, if you can’t on holiday then when can you? Mint green , purple, pink we think these tones look super chic together.
High waisted briefs are also having fashion moment which is great news if like me you like a little more coverage around the tum. Not only are they super flattering on your waist but the fuller brief won’t cut into your hips, like a tie-up side, creating a smoother shape.

The little black swimsuit is a style all women should own, purely down to the fact it’s timeless and won’t date so you can pop it in your suitcase year after year.
There is a style for all shapes out there so try a few on and see which best suits you.
