Arsenal star Folarin Balogun lined up for stunning transfer and could face Gunners in Champions League | The Sun

MARSEILLE are interested in signing Arsenal starlet Folarin Balogun, according to reports.

The forward spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 Reims, excelling in the French top flight.

Balogun, 21, has already revealed that he doesn't want to go out on loan again – leaving him set to either stay and fight for his place at the Emirates or depart permanently.

According to L'Equipe, Marseille are among a gaggle of clubs interested in signing the USA international this summer.

The French side accept that he will be expensive, but can offer Champions League football next season.

Marseille qualified for Europe's premier competition after coming third in Ligue 1 last term.

Balogun scored 21 league goals for Reims during his loan spell – including strikes home and away against Marseille.

L'OM are in the hunt for a new strike partner for veteran former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean is out of contract at Stade Velodrome, although Marseille chiefs are optimistic they can keep him, due to the 34-year-old's satisfaction with life in the South of France.

Sanchez netted 14 goals in Ligue 1 last season.
