England heroes Toni Duggan and David James back equality campaign during Women's Euros 2022 | The Sun

ENGLAND heroes Toni Duggan and David James have backed an equality campaign during the Women's Euros 2022.

The Three Lions duo are part of the 'Football is Football' initiative, which is looking to make the sport more inclusive for all.

As Sarina Wiegman's side battle it out for supremacy at home on the field, the pair have been re-drawing off it.

They have teamed up with Lucozade Sport – sponsors of England's teams – to change attitudes on and off the pitch.

A field in Salford, Manchester, has been handed a new design as our Lionesses fight it out in Group A.

And Duggan said: “I am supporting Lucozade Sport’s message because I really believe that everyone should recognise football as one game.

"After all, we all start out playing with our mates on grassroots pitches just like the ones I have helped repaint.

"Some of us are fortunate enough to turn professional but we all have one thing in common – a love of football.

"With the summer tournament on home soil, there is no better time to come together and cheer on the Lionesses. Come on England."

The newly-designed pitch is free to play on throughout this week at the Salford Sports Village.

Tom Bell, Head of Marketing at Lucozade Sport added: “This year is huge for England with competitions for many teams, and we want to ensure the nation are right behind all our players.

"Our Football is Football campaign aims to encourage conversation and change attitudes by making the nation’s most played sport as inclusive as it can be for players from all walks of life."
