Forgotten Man Utd ace who brutally snubbed Erik ten Hag yet to play ONE MINUTE for new team | The Sun

FORMER Manchester United prospect Martin Svidersky has not played a SINGLE MINUTE since deciding to leave Old Trafford last summer.

The Slovakian midfielder, 20, was offered a new contract by the Red Devils at the end of the 2021/22 season.

But he declined the proposal just weeks after Erik ten Hag took over as the club's new manager.

And he went on to sign for newly-promoted LaLiga outfit Almeria.

However, Svidersky, who was compared to Michael Carrick during his early days in Manchester, is yet to make a single appearance for the Spanish side's first-team.

He has featured in 10 games for Almeria's B-team – who play in the fifth tier.

And even at that low level he was forced to recover from a nightmare start when he was sent off on his debut against El Palo.

Svidersky's stalling career comes after he promised so much when signing for Man Utd in 2018.

Following trials with Manchester City, Celtic and West Ham, it was United that fended off competition from Chelsea and Liverpool to claim his services.

Three weeks before completing his move to Old Trafford, Svidersky tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus which kept him out for a whole year.

He made his debut for United's U20 side in September 2020 and earned the Scholar of The Year accolade for the club's U18 category.

But he ended up becoming frustrated in England and left for Spain in an attempt to secure first-team football.

It has not worked out so far for the youngster – who has a contract with Almeria until 2027.

But he will be hoping for more opportunities next season after Almeria avoided relegation by a single point.
