Gary Neville warns Man Utd will LOSE to Arsenal unless they strengthen TWO areas before this week’s transfer deadline | The Sun

GARY NEVILLE has urged Manchester United to make two new signings before the transfer deadline.

He also warned his former club that they will lose to Arsenal on Sunday if new additions are not brought in.

The Premier League transfer window is set to close on Friday at 11pm.

Neville believes United need to sign a left-back and a midfielder before then.

He criticised the Red Devils for not being fluid after their win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag's side came back from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win at Old Trafford.

Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, he explained: "You always feel under Ten Hag, they're not fluid at all at this stage of the season. They're always scruffy the first few weeks.

"You think about the Wolves game where Wolves were really unlucky not to get the victory. Nottingham Forest will feel really hard done by too. They also get beat at Tottenham."

As for the clash with Arsenal, he added: "They've got a match against Arsenal, which will be really interesting because Arsenal slipped up.

"United, it isn't quite going for them yet. It isn't quite happening… but they've put six points on the board. I think that somehow, that's quite important.

"Two tough away games with Tottenham and now Arsenal. If they hadn't won their home games they'd be under pressure."

Neville went on to suggest Ten Hag makes a pair of signings this week, ahead of Friday's deadline.

"I think they have to try to do something in the transfer market this week," he continued. "They need to get players out.

"Some clubs get players out really well but United don't tend to do that.

"They've got players in better this summer. There's no doubt they want another player or two. A left-back and central midfield player. I think they need that or else they'll be put under real pressure."

United have been linked with a string of targets in both positions in recent days.

Long-term target Ryan Gravenberch is once again being tipped for a move from Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is one of several left-backs rumoured to be on Ten Hag's radar.
