'I'm in a good place' – Marcus Rashford looking forward to fresh start under Man Utd boss Ten Hag after summer off | The Sun

MARCUS RASHFORD says he is looking forward to a fresh start under Erik Ten Hag as he bids to get his football career back on track.

The Manchester United forward lost his way last season in the general malaise at Old Trafford.

But Rashford is convinced he can recapture the form that made him a Red Devils favourite under the new boss.

Rashford said: “We can do a lot together. For me it is a fresh start, something I am looking forward to.

“I am in a good place right now. I am looking forward to getting more games under my belt and getting ready for the season.”

Rashford has had a rare summer without any form of international football having fallen out of Gareth Southgate’s squad.

But he believes that could be a plus as he bids to reignite his career and get back into the Three Lions set-up for the World Cup.

He said: “It is an opportunity to refresh. I am ready to go again. I have used the opportunity to do what I have always done and refocus.

“This is my first year I have been with the team since the beginning of pre-season.

“I feel a lot better than usual, when I go away with the nationals and come back part-way through pre-season.

Rashford is still only 24 but has made over 300 appearances for United and has 46 England caps.

But doubts about his form crept in last season for club and country.

Now he is using the pre-season under Ten Hag to silence the doubters.

He played in an impressive first half against Liverpool in Bangkok, a game United won 4-0.

Now United are in Australia where Rashford will line up against the Melbourne Victory on Friday at the famous MCG, something Rashford is relishing

He said: “I think it's going to be an amazing experience.
