Man City's Ederson mocks Arsenal supporters by pretending to cry

Man City goalkeeper Ederson mocks Arsenal supporters by pretending to CRY as Pep Guardiola’s side piled on the misery to take firm control of the Premier League title race with 4-1 victory at the Eithad

  • Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson antagonised Arsenal fans at the Etihad
  • The Brazilian simulated with his fists that Gunners supporters were crying
  • His reaction came as City ran riot in their 4-1 victory over Mikel Arteta’s side

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson took time out while his team-mates celebrated another goal in their 4-1 demolishment of Arsenal to mock travelling supporters.

Hopeful Gunners fans had made the midweek journey down from London to see their side take one step closer towards lifting the Premier League title.

But left disheartened as goals from Jon Stones, Erling Haaland and a Kevin de Bruyne brace told a different narrative.

Footage has now emerged of City’s Brazilian shot-stopper trolling rival supporters inside the Etihad stadium by making a series of hand gestures and actions towards them.

The 29-year-old was clearly enjoying his team’s moment of glory and joined in with City supporters jeering at Arsenal fans as the clock ticked down in the expected title-deciding clash.

Ederson stuck out his tongue as City dominated in their 4-1 victory over the Gunners

Ederson initially looked to mock Arsenal fans by curling his fists up in balls and waving them in-front of his eyes as an evident suggestion that Gunners supporters were crying at their side’s performance.

Surrounding Cityzens cheer their goalkeeper on once they had caught onto what he was doing and encouraged him to further antagonise their opposition.

Ederson obliged and while Arsenal fans fumed, he stuck his tongue out and smirked knowing that City would run out eventual winners in the tie.

He was given a half-hearted reality check when Rob Holding’s 86th minute close-range shot flew past him and into the City goal, denying Ederson a clean-sheet.

But that didn’t stop the Brazilian from joining in raucous celebrations at full-time as City closed the gap at the top of the Premier League to just two points.

There were further reasons to celebrate as well with Erling Haaland breaking the record for the highest-ever number of goals scored in a single Premier League season.

The Norwegian bagged his 33rd strike of the campaign to beat the record previously held by Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

Meanwhile, City’s almost perfect performance left Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand harping that Ederson and his team-mates could win the historic treble this season.

Man City are next in action when they travel to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.
